Sharon Clare

Clinical Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist

Sharon is a Clinical Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist, registered with the CNHC and holds the Level 4 Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), the largest hypnotherapy association in the UK.
Sharon helps clients reduce stress, anxiety, and overwhelm so they can feel more in control of their lives. Her approach is modern, practical, and grounded in neuroscience, combining Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Hypnosis, and Positive Psychology to create meaningful, lasting change.

Sharon understands that anxiety isn’t just something you feel in your mind—it affects the whole body. It can show up as muscle tension, digestive discomfort, poor sleep, headaches, and exhaustion, and over time, it can weaken the immune system, making it harder to stay well. She helps people break free from this cycle, calming both the mind and body so they can feel more balanced, in control, and resilient. She also has a special interest in supporting those preparing for surgery or medical procedures.

Sharon brings over 35 years of experience working with people in health and social care. She originally trained as a Registered Nurse for People with Learning Disabilities and as a former Executive Director in a not-for-profit organisation, she has dedicated her work to helping people achieve the best possible quality of life—whatever that means for them.

After qualifying as a Clinical Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist, Sharon brought her extensive experience in person-centred care into her hypnotherapy practice. She understands that everyone’s journey is unique and takes an empowering, supportive approach to help people overcome anxiety, stress, and fear.

In addition to her core hypnotherapy training, Sharon has undertaken additional specialist training in the Rewind Technique, a highly effective approach for resolving phobias, fears, and trauma quickly and gently.
Sharon is also an Executive Contributor to Brainz Magazine, where she share insights on stress, anxiety, and the power of hypnotherapy in building resilience and well-being. Writing for Brainz allows her to reach a wider audience, helping more people understand how small mindset shifts can lead to meaningful change.

Her background in healthcare and personal experience, combined with her expertise in hypnotherapy, allows her to work with a deep understanding of both the psychological and physical effects of stress and anxiety. Whether helping people navigate life’s daily challenges or overcome long-held fears, her focus is always on practical, positive change that leads to lasting results.

Like many complementary therapists, my journey into hypnotherapy started with my own experiences. After decades of working in health and social care and experiences during Covid, I hit burnout —constantly giving to others but never really stopping to look after myself. That’s when I discovered mindfulness and hypnosis, and they became life-changing tools in helping me rebalance, rebuild resilience, and create a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I live on the coast just outside Belfast and feel most at home by the sea. Whether it’s walking the coastal path, cold-water swimming in Belfast Lough, or paddleboarding, being in nature is my way to reset and reconnect. Right now, I’m converting a van into a campervan so I can explore more of Ireland’s stunning coastline, chasing new adventures or simply relaxing and taking it all in.

I also love dressmaking, knitting, and spending time with friends and family —all the little things that bring me joy and balance.

I can also be found volunteering at the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital, something I find deeply rewarding.
